hello my dearies!! here are these week's highlights :) * we made some great contacts with some people who were formerly taught and who are interested in meeting with us again!! so yay!!  * we met Consuelo, who is an inactive member not interested in returning any time soon but is open to bible studying with us & English classes!  * most people were nice to us ;) like even if they weren't interested they were still pleasant and polite which was a pleasant change from last week. * yesterday was probably the best day of the week, it was a spiritual feast. first our branch sacrament meeting was all about missionary work, which was sooo awesomeeee. and then hna horton & i were able to play a special musical number, i love playing with her! and then after church we felt prompted to stop by Ann, who has been previously taught by missionaries but for some reason they stopped going. she told us about how she went to the Mesa Temple open house and how it was ...

hello there my friends!! this week was fabulous!! sometimes i cant believe this is actually my life, being a missionary is the greatest, 11/10 recommend it <3 here are the highlights: * we taught english class this week!! it was an absolute party, we talked about hobbies, so i brought my viola, hna horton brought her knitting supplies, and we baked some zuccini bread!! * hna horton and i finished listening to the book of mormon!! it only took us 2 weeks to listen to the whole thing!! ahh the book of mormon is just the best book <3 * made contact with lots of part member families and prospective elders so we've got our work cut out for us this week! * yesterday it only got up to 90 degrees it was amazing we are still struggling to find new people to teach, everyone seems to be busy and distracted. i think i mentioned this in my last email but it is just so funny to me because even though we aren't having much visible success, we are happy as clams!! its hard n...

Week 31: Arizona: "that river used to be a road!"🌊

feliz lunes mis amores! the weeks just fly by oh my goodness. sometimes i just stop and think and ponder about how literally my only purpose right now is to strengthen my relationship with my Savior so I can help Him gather His lost sheep. literally living the dream. well here are some highlights!! * we had exchanges this week! i literally love sister marquis. she is just so good at loving people and reminding them of their worth, and i also learned some good street contacting skills from her which was a blessing (you don't street contact much in the mountains lol). so sad she is going home next transfer :( * had incredible lessons with Brisa, Lorenza, Ronnie, and Gloria! i think our lesson with Brisa was one of my favorites though. it is pretty rare to teach someone who has absolutely no religious background whatsoever, but that is how she grew up. she is so humble and teachable and really wants her daughters to grow up in a church. when we asked her if she had any...

Week 30: Arizona: amor con amor se paga❣

hola mis queridos! this was a miraculous week :) here are the highlights: * we made a goal to find 7 new people this week. we only found 1 new person, but the miracle is that we literally got 7 referrals....yes....you read that right.... the names of 7 people who are moving into our area and want to learn more/were meeting with other missionaries previously. it is an absolute miracle. and 5/7 are spanish referrals, which is even more of a miracle because they are so hard to find in north scottsdale!!  * one of the referrals we got was for a woman named Lorenza. oh my goodness this is so crazy you guys. so back in April when i was in pinetop lakeside and on the facebook response team, Lorenza messaged the misssion facebook page asking for english class info. so i got her phone number, address, and referred her to the scottsdale missionaries to give her english class information. fast forward to early July, the elders had been giving her english class info and the...

hi there!! this week was better than last week!!  milagros: * we were on our way to an appointment and we found Ray!! got talking to him and he asked us about our calling as missionaries. then he told us he wanted to come closer to Jesus Christ and asked if we had a prayer book with us. we were like noooo :( BUT WE HAVE THE BOOK OF MORMON! so we gave him a marked copy and he was soo excited to read it was actually so precious. sadly he lives outside of the mission so we had to refer him:( pero meeting him definitely gave us a boost we desperately needed. it feels like we don't get to testify as much in this area so that was a huge blessing. * we tried to find a former, and ended up meeting a guy named Gabriel! he was in the middle of moving boxes and we offered to help and he said sure! he said he used to be a member but was inactive. but anyways we got to help them move! and we were drenched in sweat but happy as clams because someone actually talked to us and ...
