Hermana Kayla Zayas' Missionary Experiences in Arizona Scottsdale Mission: 2022-2023

  hola mis queridos!! pday got swtiched to today because we got to go to the TEMPLE!!! fue absolutely maravilloso:) these past few weeks have been a bit tough. as i get closer to the end of my mission i cant help but think to myself at the end of each day, "did i do enough??" it has been easy to fall into a pattern of being self critical and running faster than i have strength. how grateful i am for the knowledge that even though i will always fall short, my Savior is always there to make up where i lack. this work is too important and too great and too grand for Him to leave me to do it on my own. in fact i actually cant do it on my own, and i shouldnt try to. i have come to know at a much deeper level that all that i teach people, whether out of the streets or in their homes, applies to me too.  dear friend, Jesus Christ didn't just die for your sins.   milagros mis amores, milagros we had a wonderful wonderful lesson with one of friends this week, we will call her julie. so julie has been struggling recently to keep commitments, mostly she hasn't been making time to read from the book of mormon and come to church. this past week we read daniel 1 with her and shared the story of daniel and his friends and their 10 day experiment to show the King they didn't need to disobey God's commandments and eat meat and drink wine. then we invited her to just do a 10 day experiment and read the book of mormon every single day. she caught the vision guys, she has read every day since:) we were driving when my cute compa goes "hermana we need to stop that woman needs help!!" we pulled over and went up to talk to her. she was feeling so overwhelmed and scared and told us she was homeless:( she saw the book of mormon in my hands and was like, "can i see that bible?" she opened it to the front and read the promise i h...

 hola a todos:) i got a new companion guys! her name is hermana spencer, she is just the best we have a lot of fun together:) it is so incredibly amazing to only have to worry about 1 companion and have 1 area hahahah in my personal studies this week, something that has stuck out to me again and again while  reading in the book of mormon is how easy it is for us to forget. as humans we have a tendency to wander, not too long ago i read about an experiment where participants were placed in a deep deep forest with no landmarks and were told to walk in a straight line. none of them were able to, in fact most of them ended up walking in circles. the truth is that without consistent, daily effort to remember and follow Jesus Christ, we will inevitably drift away. it is so easy to forget spiritual experiences we have had in the past if we are not making a consistent daily effort to have a flow of experiences that help us remember.  friends this sunday is Easter, a special time ...
