Hermana Kayla Zayas' Missionary Experiences in Arizona Scottsdale Mission: 2022-2023

  buenoooo • we had interviews this week!! we are pretty pretty sure hna goody & i are both staying so thats a relief:) • damaris passed her baptismal interview yesterday and will be baptized next sunday!! she is just so excited it is quite precious:') this week was so cool because in our lessons w her we got to hear her testify of what she knows is true & to hear her share that was so touching. please pray for her! she is only 13 & although her mom supports her getting baptized her siblings aren't the best:( • our lesson w soledad this week was so cool!! we taught the plan of salvation & invited her to pray about it, but she was like i literally already prayed about this & i know its all true. i just love her. she moves to mexico in about a week and a half so we are hoping as soon as she gets there she can get married & then baptized!! • remember keily? the one whose grandma said to give us the book of mormon back? well we found out that she has been ta...

  wow okay this is just going to be miracles: • we set up a member lesson last monday & we show up & the member BRINGS A FRIEND & so we are now teaching erick!! • we got a media referral for a woman named soledad & we met w her and she actually just moved from mexico & was meeting w missionaries over there and she wants to be baptized but needs to get married first so we are going to start teaching her & hopefully put her on date so that when she goes back to mexico she can just get married & then get baptized:) • while we were looking for soledad we found keily!! we asked if we could share a message w her and she was like sure!! she is 13 but oh so smart oh my goodness. we read from the book of mormon w her & she just ate it alllll up & so we left her with a book of mormon!! and then 2 days later we met w her again & she was so sad to tell us but her grandma said she had to give the book back:( and so we are going to keep meeting w her she j...

  hola hola hola holaaaa its me again:) pls forgive me but this will be short. oh my goodness i am just in love with downtown phoenix. there are so many people to talk to, my district is the best, the members are incredible, and i love the people we are teaching with my whole heart.  before my mission i really did not understand when missionaries would say they learned to love literally everyone, even strangers. i found it kind of silly. i can seriously say i know exactly what that feels like now. it is the weirdest thing but for some reason i just love all the people here, so, so, so deeply. i am so grateful for this because it has made me realize how infinite & big & deep Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love is for us. there is a God in Heaven. He is your Father. no one will ever love you or be more aware of you than He is.  thank you for your love, support, thoughts, prayers, emails. you are the best:) los amoooo!! hna zayas

  first things first. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! wow i totally spaced & didnt write a weekly last week whoopsie daisy. it was hna brandt's last pday & so we ran a half marathon. bc why not, right?:) i am now en el barrio MONTEREY with hna godoy!!! downtown phoenix!!! oh my heck i just love it here!! yes it is mucho mucho mas sketchy but there are people to talk to on the streets & the people we are teaching are amazing so i am a happy happy girl. you guys i was set apart as a missionary exactly one year ago can you believe it? it has been the most precious experience ever. so hard, but so good. i cannot even emphasize how much i would encourage anyone thinking about serving a mission to go. just go. there is nothing more joyful than being an instrument in the hands of the Lord. please read & ponder this quote: "God knows and sees all.   que tal mis queridos!? feliz navidad! quiero fotos! send me some! this week was so so busy but honestly the best. Christmas as a missionary is simply amazing. el martes we had Christmas zone conference! we were fed spiritually, physically, and in fun ahah. it was great because it was the whole valley so i got to see friends! we had a talent show, each district had a performance. we sang o come o come emmanuel & meshed it with use this gospel from kanye. the elders sang, i played the saxaphone part, and hna brandt played the piano part. the elders actually killed it it was awesome. el miercoles we had interviews & it is pretty certain that im leaving this area:( ive been here for 4 transfers though so i guess its time!! just going to savor this last week i have with hna brandt in this areaaaa had a 1/2 exchange con mi roomie sis wilkins she is just so cute i just <3 her. went to see the mesa temple lights with sis reeves & sherri!!! this christmas season was honestl...

  holis mis queridos!! we got to go to the temple this week!! this was much needed oh my heck ive been craving the temple for months. the peace & spirit i feel there is unlike anywhere else. exchanges this week were with sister beck in the granite reef/paradise valley area! sister beck is so amazing, i love how direct and intentional she is when testifying of Jesus Christ. that's something ive been trying to incorporate into my teaching this week. honestly this week was pretty slow in terms of finding and teaching friends. we were able to get into a lot of member's homes and share Christmas messages though which i absolutely love:)  invitation: pray for the Lord to send you on an errand this week. there are so many people struggling right now, pray for eyes to see who needs your help, and for the courage to act when you receive a prompting. dont really have too much to update on this week lo siento!! feliz navidad mis queridos!! con mucho amor, hna zayas
