Week 11: Arizona: It's Raining Spanish Referrals☂️

Image
Buenos dias mis queridos!! Cómo les va? I hope your week was wonderful!! With Easter coming up we have started giving Easter messages, and we had a lesson with a family who has a young woman who wants to serve a mission. After watching the Easter video, the mom asked Hermana Sleight and I to share what our favorite parts of our mission have been. I told her I had never experienced such great joy, and then she says "That makes sense because as a missionary you are always testifying of Christ!" 🤯 my mind was blown but that is literally 100% true. There is a light and a peace that comes when we testify of Christ, even when we speak His name. So, I would invite each of you to watch this video and share it with someone you feel would benefit from an Easter Message :)  None Were with Him:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpFhS0dAduc This week literally flew by I cannot believe it. Here are the highlights:  • We were able to have 3-4 lessons a day which was such...

Qué tal mis amigos?! This week was wonderful! Here are the highlights: • On Saturday we had a mission wide conference, so we drove down to the Valley for the day!! Elder Neil L Anderson came to speak to us!! It was so amazing to have a prophet of God among us, such a special experience. • I got my tiwi card and am now the driver 😜 (see our mom and teen driver photo below heheheh) sooo I had my first experience driving a truck up the mountain so fun!! • We got our hair cut by a member who also did Madonna's hair on her Vogue tour...crazy, I know. • We finished our goal to text every single former in our area book (about 200ish) and we got some responses and scheduled some lessons for this week YAY! Next step: call every single one that didn't respond :) • Jeff made us tamales!!!!!! 🤩🤩 • We had a lot of lessons with people we usually don't have lessons with/usually fall through so that was a true miracle • So Hna Sleight & I were both assigned to speak Spanish, but w...

Week 9: Arizona: Estaaaaa biennnn

Hola mis queridos amigos!!! I hope your week was nothing short of incredible. Everything is going well here in Pinetop-Lakeside, we have had some great lessons and some of our friends are really progressing!! Friday was the last district council of the transfer! It is super crazy to think I've already been on my mission for a transfer, it literally flew by. We had a funeral potato and apple pie cook off with the Elders, so that was really fun!!  Thursday was a very interesting day. Hermana Sleight and I did an English Fast, meaning we did not speak English the whole day and we only listened to Spanish christian music. It was actually so hard hahahahah it reminded me of when I was at the MTC and almost no one knew English. It was so funny though because literally anytime anything went wrong we didn't know how to be dramatic and sad in spanish so we just kept repeating "Estaaaaaa bieeeeennnn" lololol Transfer news came out!! Hermana Sleight and I are staying in Pineto...

Week 8: Arizona:Stop 🛑 I Wanna Talk About Milk 🥛🐄

Hola mis amigos!! Cómo les va? This week was incredible!! You guys probably think I'm hiding something because I feel like I say that every week but it is simply the truth. There are tough days but I seriously just love being a missionary. We had exchanges on Thursday, Sister Smith and I spent the day in Eager!! I thought Pinetop-Lakeside was tiny, however I now know that Eager is much, much tinier hahahaha. It was like an hour drive into the middle of nowhere. We were literally 5 minutes away and all I could see was fields and cows it was so gorgeous though I loved it. Sister Smith is also from ORLANDO which is so wild, we never even met but definitely were at the same multi-stake events. We had such a fun time together we are going to beg President to make us companions. Literally whenever anyone asked us where we were from we looked at each other and went "FLORIDA!!" it was actually hilarious haha On Saturday we went to the baptism of a woman our Zone Leaders taught!...

Week 7: Arizona: Where did Susie's Head Go?!

Qué tal?! This was a miracle week!!!!! As I mentioned last week, we have been struggling to find people to teach. On Saturday we got a text from one of our bishops that basically said that a man named Jeff had texted him because he has been thinking about joining the church for a while and he loves watching General Conference and he basically wants to get baptized...ISNT THAT AMAZING?!?! So Hna Sleight and I called him up and he was super excited and was like "Let's plan a time to get together tomorrow after sacrament meeting" and we were like YESSSSS. We met him yesterday and he is the absolute sweetest he is so eager to learn more and fits right in to the ward. Like literally we are having our first lesson with him tomorrow at a member's house. He has so much member support which is honestly so awesome. That was definitely the highlight of our week. Another miracle: so we think our neighbors have been out of town for the past 3 weeks because this week they have st...
