Week 7: Arizona: Where did Susie's Head Go?!
Qué tal?!
This was a miracle week!!!!! As I mentioned last week, we have been struggling to find people to teach. On Saturday we got a text from one of our bishops that basically said that a man named Jeff had texted him because he has been thinking about joining the church for a while and he loves watching General Conference and he basically wants to get baptized...ISNT THAT AMAZING?!?! So Hna Sleight and I called him up and he was super excited and was like "Let's plan a time to get together tomorrow after sacrament meeting" and we were like YESSSSS. We met him yesterday and he is the absolute sweetest he is so eager to learn more and fits right in to the ward. Like literally we are having our first lesson with him tomorrow at a member's house. He has so much member support which is honestly so awesome. That was definitely the highlight of our week.
Another miracle: so we think our neighbors have been out of town for the past 3 weeks because this week they have started blasting rap music late at night and early in the morning. So sleeping has been a struggle because we get woken up by profanities. But last night Hna Sleight prayed so that they would blast their music during the day time so we could sleep!! And they didn't blast their music last night and started like right now as I type this email!! So yay!!!! God is real!!!!!
Some more highlights:
- It snowed❄ on Wednesday!! It has been so cold here but honestly I don't even mind anymore. Literally on Thursday Hna Sleight and I were outside and were like "dang it is a really nice day today" and we looked at the weather and it was 28⁰.......
- I made my first snow angel and snowman!!! My snowman's ⛄name is Susie!!!
- We made mickey mouse pancakes and pineapple upside cake 👩🍳
- We recorded a special musical number for our Zone's Facebook page!! 🎻🎶
With RootsTech coming up this weekend we have been talking a ton about Family History with members and with our friends. We have been sharing this video, and I'd like to invite you all to watch it and let me know what you think!!
There is life after death. Because of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice, we will all be resurrected, and if we choose to make and keep covenants with God, we can become like Him and live with our families for eternity. I am grateful for temples and for the sacred work performed within its walls. I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to lasting happiness. I know that God is my Father and that He is aware of me (and you) at this very moment in time. He wants nothing more than for you to come unto Him and make sacred covenants with Him. There is literally nothing more essential than forming binding covenant relationships with Him. If you ever have any questions about covenants or the work that goes on in temples, I would love to talk about it with you!!
There are some scary things happening in the world right now. I hope you can all feel of God's love for you and take comfort in that these times have been prophesied of for centuries. If our foundation is built on Christ, we need not fear.
I love all of you and I am grateful for you. I read all of your emails and they make me so happy. Thank you for your continued love and support. ❤
Con mucho amor,
Hna Zayas/Kayla
