Week 30: Arizona: amor con amor se paga❣

 hola mis queridos!


this was a miraculous week :) here are the highlights:

* we made a goal to find 7 new people this week. we only found 1 new person, but the miracle is that we literally got 7 referrals....yes....you read that right.... the names of 7 people who are moving into our area and want to learn more/were meeting with other missionaries previously. it is an absolute miracle. and 5/7 are spanish referrals, which is even more of a miracle because they are so hard to find in north scottsdale!! 

* one of the referrals we got was for a woman named Lorenza. oh my goodness this is so crazy you guys. so back in April when i was in pinetop lakeside and on the facebook response team, Lorenza messaged the misssion facebook page asking for english class info. so i got her phone number, address, and referred her to the scottsdale missionaries to give her english class information. fast forward to early July, the elders had been giving her english class info and they found out she was moving, so they offered to help her move last week. they ended up having a great gospel discussion with her and she came to church yesterday with her friend Irene!! they are both so prepared to hear the gospel it is so cool!! and so then i actually got to meet her in person yesterday which was SO COOL I never thought that would happen! and so then the elders referred her to us because she is a single woman. SO NOW WE ALSO GET TO TEACH HER!!! God is in the details of the details of the details :)

* there were 17 nonmembers at church yesterday :) 

* THERE WERE 7 PEOPLE AT ENGLISH CLASS!

* after 9pm hna horton & i baked and made yummy things, like oatmeal raisin cookies, arroz con leche, and muffins :) andd she is teaching me how to knit! i should be able to knit a bunny within the next few weeks so i will keep you all posted hahah

* it only got up to 111 :)

* we had zone conference which was a spiritual feast as always. it was all about developing Christ-like attributes in ourselves. anddd i got to see hna jenson!
 
i have reflected a lot of what paul says in 1 Corinthinas 13:2 , "...and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." he goes on to say how charity is the greatest Christ-like attribute we can work to obtain, how even if we feed the hungry, have a testimony of the Savior, and have faith, without charity none of that even matters. join me this week in praying for the gift of charity and to be able to see others deeply as Jesus Christ sees them <3

Week 7: Arizona: Where did Susie's Head Go?!

  Qué tal?! This was a miracle week!!!!! As I mentioned last week, we have been struggling to find people to teach. On Saturday we got a text from one of our bishops that basically said that a man named Jeff had texted him because he has been thinking about joining the church for a while and he loves watching General Conference and he basically wants to get baptized...ISNT THAT AMAZING?!?! So Hna Sleight and I called him up and he was super excited and was like "Let's plan a time to get together tomorrow after sacrament meeting" and we were like YESSSSS. We met him yesterday and he is the absolute sweetest he is so eager to learn more and fits right in to the ward. Like literally we are having our first lesson with him tomorrow at a member's house. He has so much member support which is honestly so awesome. That was definitely the highlight of our week. Week 4: Mexico City/Arizona: Goodbye Mexico CCM ;(

  Hi there!! I am in Arizona!!! Ahhhhh today was a long day. I had to be at my bus ready to leave the MTC at 1:30am, so Hermana Gomez and I decided we just wouldn't sleep and instead did some cramping packing and had a nutella with toast party.  Saying goodbye to my district was hard, we all became such great friends, but saying goodbye to Hermana Gomez was so sad I was actually devastated. She is going to do amazing things in Mérida. Once I got to the Mexico City airport I realized there were a bunch of other missionaries too, yay!! One of the hermanas had a ukelele, so while we were waiting by the gate she started playing hymns while me and another hermana sang along. So there we were, 3 hermanas singing super loud, its 4 in the morning and everyone is half asleep... It was actually so fun even though people were given us weird looks ahaha.
