Week 32: Arizona: la fe precede a los milagros 🌷

 hello there my friends!!


this week was fabulous!! sometimes i cant believe this is actually my life, being a missionary is the greatest, 11/10 recommend it <3

here are the highlights:

* we taught english class this week!! it was an absolute party, we talked about hobbies, so i brought my viola, hna horton brought her knitting supplies, and we baked some zuccini bread!!

* hna horton and i finished listening to the book of mormon!! it only took us 2 weeks to listen to the whole thing!! ahh the book of mormon is just the best book <3

* made contact with lots of part member families and prospective elders so we've got our work cut out for us this week!

* yesterday it only got up to 90 degrees it was amazing


we are still struggling to find new people to teach, everyone seems to be busy and distracted. i think i mentioned this in my last email but it is just so funny to me because even though we aren't having much visible success, we are happy as clams!! its hard not to be happy when Jesus Christ is the center of your life!!

i really want all of you to read a talk this week!! it is called Jesus Christ—Gifts and Expectations. here's the link: 


there is one paragraph in particular that really stood out to me: "...men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace. Whoever will lose his life in the service of God will find eternal life."

I know this is true!!!! I know that when we give our all to God He in turn gives us His all. please, please, please, make the decision right now to let God prevail in your life, please. if there is something in your life that prevents you from having the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, or something this is preventing you from living in complete accordance with God's will, please eliminate it!! and if there is something you aren't doing that you should be doing, please start doing it!! if there is a spiritual gift or Christ like attribute you want to develop, start today by praying to God for help in developing that gift or attribute. please don't live below your privileges as a child of God, your Heavenly Father wants so much to bless you if you will just qualify yourself to receive those blessings. 

the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's true church restored on the Earth. i know this for myself. every good thing in my life can be traced back to Jesus Christ and His restored church.

Week 7: Arizona: Where did Susie's Head Go?!

  Qué tal?! This was a miracle week!!!!! As I mentioned last week, we have been struggling to find people to teach. On Saturday we got a text from one of our bishops that basically said that a man named Jeff had texted him because he has been thinking about joining the church for a while and he loves watching General Conference and he basically wants to get baptized...ISNT THAT AMAZING?!?! So Hna Sleight and I called him up and he was super excited and was like "Let's plan a time to get together tomorrow after sacrament meeting" and we were like YESSSSS. We met him yesterday and he is the absolute sweetest he is so eager to learn more and fits right in to the ward. Like literally we are having our first lesson with him tomorrow at a member's house. He has so much member support which is honestly so awesome. That was definitely the highlight of our week. Week 4: Mexico City/Arizona: Goodbye Mexico CCM ;(

  Hi there!! I am in Arizona!!! Ahhhhh today was a long day. I had to be at my bus ready to leave the MTC at 1:30am, so Hermana Gomez and I decided we just wouldn't sleep and instead did some cramping packing and had a nutella with toast party.  Saying goodbye to my district was hard, we all became such great friends, but saying goodbye to Hermana Gomez was so sad I was actually devastated. She is going to do amazing things in Mérida. Once I got to the Mexico City airport I realized there were a bunch of other missionaries too, yay!! One of the hermanas had a ukelele, so while we were waiting by the gate she started playing hymns while me and another hermana sang along. So there we were, 3 hermanas singing super loud, its 4 in the morning and everyone is half asleep... It was actually so fun even though people were given us weird looks ahaha.
