Week 72: Phoenix: espera!!!
hello darlings!!!
another week of miracles(:
monday night we had the special opportunity to attend a family home evening honoring hermana carrillo, one of the sister missionaries who served in this mission and who passed away a few months ago. her mom came to visit the mission this week & it was so incredible to meet her and talk with her. hermana carrillo served 3 of the 4 areas i have served in, and so it has been so beautiful to see the impact she had on so many people, including mine💛
tuesday we had the transfer call & found out that hna godoy was leaving!! she is now in the west valley & although i miss her with my whole heart i am beyond excited for the experiences she will have over there. i am now in a trio with hermana stoddard and hermana stubbs!! two of my besties!!! they are incredible missionaries and honestly the biggest miracle of the week was that we have been able to consistently teach in unity it has been so cool!!!
thursday was transfer day: super chaotic but so fun to see everyone & meet new missionaries that were serving in the old Phoenix mission. i spent the day doing departing activities with the other 23 missionaries going home (all elders, btw). it felt pretty strange at first hahahah pero it went well. the highlight was definitely the temple. i know temples are the literal houses of God. i know the covenants we make there really do carry into the eternities. i was able to receive so many assurances and just bask in the spirit. it was so needed. after the temple we had a departing dinner & testimony meeting. the spirit was so beautiful.
friday, saturday, & sunday went by in a blur. we just worked worked worked. i love it here. i love feeling the spirit. i love testifying of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
in spanish, the verbs 'to wait' and 'to hope' are the same: esperar. i know that while we are waiting for relief from a trial or while we are waiting for an answer to a prayer that at the same time we can have so much hope in that rest and relief and answers will come. because God ALWAYS keeps His promises. in fact we might as well live as if His promises have already been fulfilled. because they will be.
God lives. you are His. the book of mormon is true. Jesus is the Christ.
all my love,
hna zayas
