Week 40: Arizona: play it coooool😆
wowowow how is it already monday?!!
this week was
literally so awesome!! hna brandt is my new companion, she is literally
the best! we work hard & have a lot of fun <3 it doesnt even feel
like i am greenie breaking her!
highlights:
*
our lesson with Gloria and her girls was sooo good! we are realizing
that Gloria is not actually super interested BUT her daughters are!!
like they participate in lessons and have been coming to mutual
consistently AND came to church for the first time yesterday :))))
*
on Friday we got to leave the mission and go to the mesa temple
visitor's center for a pass off lesson with the mesa sisters, bret, and
one of our members. the Spirit was soooo strong literally felt like I
was in heaven. we invited him to be baptized and he said yes! november
12th! sooo excitingggg
* before our lesson with
bret we walked around the mesa temple for a bit since we dont really
get to go to the temple. it was so special though because even though we
weren't able to go inside i literally felt like i was inside it was
amazing i literally got homesick for my home in heavan.
*
we knocked on the door of a less active member named Maxim. we got to
know him for a bit and he eventually told us he doesn't believe he needs
God or the church to be happy, that life is just as great without it.
in that moment my mind was just racing and i was like "ok ok what
scripture or what principle or what video do i share with him" when i
just got the impression to ask him a question: "when was the last time
you offered a prayer to your Heavenly Father?" he had kind of defensive
and was like no no no i am not ready to do that. then the second
impression i had was to testify. so i did. and his eyes started to tear
up and all of a sudden this man is crying. it was the craziest thing in
the world, but such a wonderful reminder to me that 1. i should ALWAYS
follow promptings and 2. no one can deny your heart felt testimony of
something.
* we had 8 friends at church. EIGHT. such a miracle
* tender mercy: out of all the less active member contacts we visited only one was hostile!!
*
the peruvian family the elders in our branch are teaching are getting
married and baptized on november 5th!!!!!! eeeeeeeeeeek!!
this scripture really spoke to me this week:
"Come,
my brethren, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters...yea,
come buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore, do
not spend money for that which is of no worth, nor your labor for that
which cannot satisfy...come unto the Holy One of Israel, and feast upon
that which perisheth not, neither can be corrupted..." 2 Nephi 9:50-51
no
matter what the world claims, Jesus Christ is the only true, lasting
source of joy. this joy is deep, pure, sweet, filling, soul-expanding,
and eternal. oh He is just so good, so wonderful. turn to Jesus Christ.
He will give you rest <3
thank you for your emails. you dont even know how happy they make me. i love and pray for you!
con mucho amor,
