Week 39: Arizona: half way there :')

wow. ha sido una semana de milagros. so many.

first things first, transfer news came out & i am staying in north scottsdale w/ via linda & chaparral! my new compañera will be hna brandt :)


• siegren!!!!! she was a referral from a missionary who served here during covid. she was so excited to meet with us, loves the book of mormon, & is going to start attending institute on tuesdays!!! she is just a ray of sunshine 💛

• our lesson with brisa this week was the best, in the past month and a half she has literally progressed so much. we gave a soft baptism invitation & she said yes, she just wants to keep learning more!

• brisa's daughter samantha texted us wednesday asking if we could help her out with a religion assignment so we got to eat ice cream & tour the church & sing hymns with her!!

• on saturday there was a valley-wide hispanic cultural celebration & all the spanish speaking missionaries were invited!! so we got to go talk to people, eat yummy food, and enjoy cool performances. even saw the Joo family who my family was friends with when we lived in gilbert so that was so fun :)

• BRET!! the sister missionaries serving in mesa street contacted him about a month ago and have been teaching him. he lives in our area though so we met him yesterday because he came to stake conference!!! and he loved it!!! so many members went up and introduced themselves and he felt so welcomed it was so good. our pass off lesson with him will be this fridayyyy! 

• a few months ago we street contacted a man named george. he was just out taking out the trash and it was an absolute miracle he didn't ignore our existence when we talked to him (it was literally 114 degrees outside). but we were finally able to meet with him this week & had an incredible bible study & gave him a book of mormon and he is excited to read it and said we can come back every thursday!!



ive been a missionary for 9 months which means i am half way done which is actually insane 😓 time has just flown out here.

my invitation to you today is to call a loved one, give someone a hug, compliment a stranger. this world needs more good people.

Week 7: Arizona: Where did Susie's Head Go?!

  Qué tal?! This was a miracle week!!!!! As I mentioned last week, we have been struggling to find people to teach. On Saturday we got a text from one of our bishops that basically said that a man named Jeff had texted him because he has been thinking about joining the church for a while and he loves watching General Conference and he basically wants to get baptized...ISNT THAT AMAZING?!?! So Hna Sleight and I called him up and he was super excited and was like "Let's plan a time to get together tomorrow after sacrament meeting" and we were like YESSSSS. We met him yesterday and he is the absolute sweetest he is so eager to learn more and fits right in to the ward. Like literally we are having our first lesson with him tomorrow at a member's house. He has so much member support which is honestly so awesome. That was definitely the highlight of our week. Week 4: Mexico City/Arizona: Goodbye Mexico CCM ;(

  Hi there!! I am in Arizona!!! Ahhhhh today was a long day. I had to be at my bus ready to leave the MTC at 1:30am, so Hermana Gomez and I decided we just wouldn't sleep and instead did some cramping packing and had a nutella with toast party.  Saying goodbye to my district was hard, we all became such great friends, but saying goodbye to Hermana Gomez was so sad I was actually devastated. She is going to do amazing things in Mérida. Once I got to the Mexico City airport I realized there were a bunch of other missionaries too, yay!! One of the hermanas had a ukelele, so while we were waiting by the gate she started playing hymns while me and another hermana sang along. So there we were, 3 hermanas singing super loud, its 4 in the morning and everyone is half asleep... It was actually so fun even though people were given us weird looks ahaha.
