Week 23: Arizona: larry the llama🦙🌸

 Hola a todos!

Woah it is not Monday! we had zone conference yesterday so preparation day was moved to today. Let me tell ya 7 straight days of proselyting without a break is a lot. It was a wonderful week though. Alrighty let's list out the highlights:

• We were at a member's house for dinner and they were telling us about all the farm animals they have, and then the little kids were like, "We also have a LLAMA!" LOL. so we met Larry the Llama :)
• We got to help out with a Stake Primary Activity about missionary work. The kids were too too cuteeee
• IT RAINED!! YUP YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! WE FINALLY GOT SOME MOISTURE!! and then the day after it rained the weather got down to the 70s and it was SO humid oh my goodness I was flipping out humidity is the best
• We had Zone Conference, which was a spiritual feast as always. It was on making Christ the focus of every lesson we teach, every invitation we extend, and every promise we make. We tried it out on the three lessons we had afterwards and oh my goodness those had to be some of my favorite lessons from my whole mission.
• We have a goal to invite every person we teach this week to be baptized. Yes it is bold, but we felt impressed to plan that way so that our friends can have a goal to work towards. So, we did that with all three of all lessons yesterday and they all went really well, but the one that I loved the most was Shannon's. We talked about our purpose as missionaries, covenants, and baptism. She has gone through some life-altering events recently and is now more ready than ever to let God prevail in her life. So we asked her that if she felt this Gospel was true for herself, would she follow Jesus Christ's example and be baptized? And she said yes! God ceaseth not to be God :)

So I have decided that I should probably make these emails a bit more real so that if anyone who reads this is planning on going on a mission they aren't misled hahahah the mission is beautiful and wonderful and I love it butttt it is also awful sometimes. So, here are the not-so-much-highlights:

• We were sick on Tuesday and had to stay in our apartment most of the day because we didn't know if it was covid, it wasn't though.
• We were trying to street contact a guy and he went offff about how missionaries are always snooping around in people's business, lol
• Mickey sent us a long text about how she didn't want to talk to us about religion anymore... :(
• Most of our lessons fell through and we still haven't found new people to teach

okay imma stop there but just know that if you are planning on serving a mission it isn't all butterflies and rainbows and for every amazing amazing day you have 20 or more not so great days, but it is worth it :)

In my personal study I studied a lot about coming to know and feel Christ instead of just knowing about Him. "For behold, in my name are they called; and if they know me they shall come forth, and shall have a place eternally at my right hand." Do we know Christ or do we know about Christ? I know that as we strive to take upon ourselves His attributes we will become more like Him, and we will rejoice because we will feel the Atonement of Jesus Christ working in our lives to purify and sanctify us. There are no shorcuts to being able to have a personal relationship with our Savior. I invite you to do anything necessary to know your Savior, because once you know your Savior, once you have felt of His Atonement working in your life, once you have experienced the joy that comes when He cleanses you, you won't seek after any worldly pleasure ever again.

Have a fabulous week! I love you all! <3 <3 Let me know how you are doing!

Love,

Hna Zayas
