Week 22: Arizona: lara bar enthusiasts 🍎

 Holaa mis queridos!!!

Great great week! So many miracles. Highlights:

• Solid lesson con Elias! He wants to get baptized but isn't sure if he should do it now or wait and see if he moves to Mexico. So we talked about how the most essential part about baptism is receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and making the covenant with God. We invited him to pray about baptism and to know God's will.

• Hna Jenson and I did an English class!! well, mostly... We slipped a few times because we legitimately forgot, but for the most part no English was spoken. Super fun!

• Someone called us and asked if we could do some service and we ended up washing their dogs... lol it was a party

• Brigitte is so excited for her baptism!! We are finishing up the last couple of things we need to teach her, and one of the those was the Law of Chastity. Brigitte can be a bit crazy sometimes so we were scared to see how she would react, but literally it could not have gone any better. She literally LOVES the Law of Chastity. She was giving us all these referrals and wants us to tell all her friends about it, it was so precious.

• Our lesson with Woody this week was interesting. We were trying to teach part of the Plan of Salvation while his wife and another girl were discussing their favorite types of weed. It was definitely a time.

• Jeff gave us a huge variety pack of Lara Bars. They are our new obsession.

• We had an incredible lesson with Michael!! We have been trying to get a hold of Michael for like my entire time here, so almost 5 months. We were finally able to meet with him, he is the most incredible soul. He is in his 50s and has spent over 20 yrs of his life in jail, but he is the most humble and repentant soul I have met on my mission. His desire to leave his past behind him and enter the covenant path is so beautiful. The only problem is that the courts keep trying to hold his past against him, so he might have to go to jail for a year and a half. We will find out on Thursday. Please, please, please pray for him. Pray so that the judge can be guided by the Spirit and come to a decision aligned with God's will.

Covenants are just the most beautiful things ever. How humbling that the God of the Universe is willing to make sacred promises with us, fallen humans. Covenants allow for greater access to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. What does this mean? It means that when we make covenants we can receive greater access to divine help in overcoming our sins, weaknesses, shortcomings, trials, etc etc etc. Making covenants also allows us to have the Holy Ghost with us when we live worthy of his companionship. I am so grateful to have been able to make covenants with my God, to bind me to Him. If you would like to learn more about covenants and how you can make them too, message me :)

I love this Gospel. I have reflected a lot this week on the blessings I have received in my life from being a member of Christ's restored church, and I cannot imagine my life without it. I know Jesus Christ lives today, and that He has perfect empathy for everything you are going through right now.

Have a fabulous week my dear friends. Come what may and love it!

Love,

Hna Zayas
