Week 21: Arizona: don't keep the faith, share it 🌿
Hi! Wow it is already June!
Not going to lie, this
was a hard week, but with this new transfer coming up Hna Jenson and I
are so so so soooo motivated to find new people. We just really need a
new teaching pool with people who are actually interested in learning
the gospel. The lessons we had this week were kinda bleh, but let's look
at the positive shall we! Ramando & Renelda both committed to
living the Word of Wisdom, WOODY WENT TO ARP!!!, we met a new friend
named Lori, our lesson with MIssy didn't end up crashing and burning, we
have a new senior couple in our district!! (being the only sisters gets
tiring okay), and I am staying in Pinetop-Lakeside for another transfer
(this will be my 4th transfer here!!!).
random things:
• Learned how to use a weed whacker, just call me the weed whacking queen ðŸ¤
• Someone confessed to use that they have murdered several people
• Ate a tasty tasty lemon cream pie
• "You don't own your testimony: you rent it. And your rent is due every day."
• MY COUSIN GOT HIS MISSION CALL TO CALI!!! SHOUTOUT TO DANIEL!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Some tender/touching moments from this week:
•
We visited Tina and her girls, Beautiful (age 8) and Elektra (age 4).
When we said a prayer with them to leave, Elektra burst into tears and
exclaimed, "I miss Jesus!!!!!!" Me too Elektra, me too :(
***all of the rest have to do with testimony meeting yesterday***
•
Yesterday in sacrament meeting there were so many beautiful
testimonies. All the youth in the stake went on Trek, and hearing them
share their testimonies about how much they learned at trek reminded me
of how great of an influence youth activities had on me and on my
testimony.
• Bro Mattice brought Elias to church
yesterday, and when he got up to bare his testimony he said it all in
Spanish first so that Elias could understand, it was so precious.
•
I don't even know this sweet brother's name, but a man got up and bore
powerful testimony of the gospel and of Jesus Christ. And then he tells
us that his mom had passed away at 5:30 that morning. I was floored I
could not believe this man. Here he his, in the middle of one of the
hardest days of life, his mom had passed not even 5 hours earlier, and
he was testifying of Jesus Christ and expressing gratitude. I cannot
even adequately express how touched I was. This man found out his mom
died, yet still managed to pull himself together and be on time to 9am
church so that he could renew his baptismal covenant. What an incredible
soul, I want to be like him. When had times come, I want my first
thoughts to be of Jesus Christ.
I am so
grateful to be a missionary. This gospel is true. Jesus Christ is real
and He lives right now. He is my Savior, my Brother, and my Best Friend.
Have a beautiful week my friends!! I pray for you and I feel your prayers on my behalf 💛
Love,
Hna Zayas
