Week 14: Arizona: God ceaseth not to be God!!
Buenos dias!
Qué tal? This week felt so long yet it also flew by, super weird. Here are the highlights:
•
We had exchanges on Tuesday, so I spent the day with Sister Smith in
Eagar, again! we had lots of fun telling people we were both from
Orlando again 🤩Their area is super small so they took away their car
this transfer, which meant we got to do lots of walking and some biking.
The wind 🍃 in Eagar is insanely crazy I felt like we were walking
through a tropical storm we were nearly getting blown away hahaha it was
fun though. We were walking to one of our appointments and this truck
drives by with a giant freshly killed bear hanging out of it.... welcome
to the mountain. 🤠
• We had another lesson
con Elias, he is so wonderful. He is really struggling with some
temporal needs right now though so please pray for him. We taught him
the Plan of Salvation, and afterwards he was talking about how much his
life has improved and how much more peace he feels in his life since we
started meeting with him. It was so tender <3
•
Hna Sleight and I were assigned to be on our Spanish page Facebook
response team, so we have spent lots of time messaging people who
message the page! You should check it out, Vidas Centradas en Cristo :)
• Hna Sleight & I made cheesecake for District Council, see pic below hehe😎
•
We had interviews con Presidente!! He kinda hinted at me being in the
area for 6 more months, so yay :) He also promised to assign me a
spanish speaking companion when Hna Sleight goes home (she has 9 more
days) so we can keep teaching our Spanish families! 🥳
•
We had Stake Conference, which was INCREDIBLE, like wow. We had Elder
Haynie of the 70 with us which was so wonderful. Jeff also spoke (he was
so amazing) and invited the whole stake to his baptism his Saturday LOL
so basically everyone wants to go to that now haha.
•MIRACLE!!!!!!! IF YOU SKIP OVER THIS ENTIRE EMAIL PLEASE READ AT LEAST THIS:
so
we were in the middle of personal study when Hna Sleight goes "what if
we bring our neighbor an Easter treat?" So we go over to bring her a
treat (mind you we don't know her name and have never spoken to her
before). So we knock on the door and she opens the peep hole and looks
kinda weirded out and we are like "Hi!! We just felt like we needed to
stop by and bring you this treat." She invited us into her home and
broke down in tears about how hard life has been for her. She told us
that she felt completely and utterly alone and that she had even
considered commiting suicide that morning. What a blessing it was for us
to be able to be instruments in God's hands to be able to tell this
woman that she has a purpose and that God is intimately aware of her and
her struggles. I am so grateful Hna Sleight was brave enough to follow
that prompting from the Spirit. I challenge you all to never suppress a
generous thought and to just follow promptings as soon as you receive
them, because you have no idea the impact you can have.
That is all for this week. Espero que pasen una bonita semana!! Let me know how you are doing!!
Con mucho amor,
Hermana Zayas
