Week 13: Arizona: can I buy you guys groceries?!!
Hola mis queridos!!
hope you all are doing swell
<3 We had a lot of lessons fall through but it ended up being okay,
we made lots of contacts and did some drop by visits. Here are the
highlights:
• We taught Elias the Restoration
with the Bautistas!! It went so well, he is so receptive of everything
we teach him and told us he would pray to know if what we are teaching
him is true <3 The Bautistas are literally so good to him, they have
been buying him groceries and taking him to appointments. The members
here are absolutely amazing.
• We were able to do some service with the district for our nonmember friend Missy! She is the sweetest lady.
•
We made Tacos with Sister Collins on Thursday night!! She is so kind to
us and literally is our mom away from home, we are so grateful for her.
•
Our friend Brigitte called us and asked us if she could buy us
groceries because we looked too skinny at our last lesson hahahahah
•
We had a really awesome lesson with Amy, it was like she finally had an
"aha moment!!" She had a ton of questions from General Conference, and
someone we got to talking about Eternal Progression and how our purpose
on this Earth is to prepare to meet God so we can one day BECOME like
him. Her face literally lit up so much like that concept was so exciting
to her. And then we showed her the new Easter Video the church put out
(which is so amazing by the way, go to churchofjesuschrist.org
and watch it right now) and she loved it so much she started crying. It
was just so precious to see how she really wants to get to know Christ
now, the literal highlight of our week.
•Not
really a highlight but Hna Sleight got food poisoning so we were stuck
in our apartment Saturday and Sunday. BUT the good thing that came out
of this was that we got to catch up on some much needed sleep and got to
read SO MUCH of the Book of Mormon, so that was amazing. Also, just to
again show how amazing the members are, literally on Sunday all these
members were calling to see how we were doing and if we needed anything.
We felt so loved.
Here is a long quote I read this week that really spoke to me, read it you won't regret it i promise :)
"We Are Not Made for Endings
In
light of what we know about our eternal destiny, is it any wonder that
whenever we face the bitter endings of life, they seem unacceptable to
us? There seems to be something inside of us that resists endings.
Why
is this? Because we are made of the stuff of eternity. We are eternal
beings, children of the Almighty God, whose name is Endless and who
promises eternal blessings without number. Endings are not our destiny.
The
more we learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, the more we realize
that endings here in mortality are not endings at all. They are merely
interruptions—temporary pauses that one day will seem small compared to
the eternal joy awaiting the faithful.
How grateful I am to my Heavenly Father that in His plan there are no true endings, only everlasting beginnings."
- Dieter F. Uchtdorf
This Gospel is just so true and so beautiful and I love it with my whole heart.
I hope you have a beautiful week!! Let me know how you are doing!! Los amo!!
Lots of love,
Hermana Zayas
