Week 5: Arizona: 1 month!!

 Hola mis queridos!!!


This week was full of miracles/tender mercies. On Tuesday 2 of our lessons fell through LITERALLY RIGHT AFTER we prayed for miracles. It all turned out to be amazing though because in the evening we were able to schedule 2 last minute lessons and they were exactly what our friends needed. And then after that another member gave us a bag full of tamales, strawberries, and an avocado. So basically God is aware of us and his timing is perfect. 

Thursday was my 1 month mark!! I feel like I've been a missionary forever but it also went by so fast. I love being able to testify of Christ every single day. On Thursday we had a bunch of lessons with our friends, and 2 of them, Mary and Darla, were so excited to learn more about the Book of Mormon. It made my heart so happy❤

I love this quote by President Nelson: "I promise that as your prayfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions- every day." I know with all my heart that this is true. I love the Book of Mormon, there is no other book that can bring us closer to God. 

Some highlights:

• Hna Sleight and I made s'mores using our gas stove to celebrate my 1 month mark hehe
• We did some service with the Young Men for a friend named Missy!! We got to stack wood, it was so fun. Hna Sleight was like "you can't get any more country than stacking wood for someone and then leaving in your truck" hahaha Pinetop Lakeside is literally the most country place ever
• I tried fries with my frosty for the first time :)
• We heart attacked some of our friends!! And only got caught once!!! Hahah
• There are cute wagons everywhere and a bunch of random bears. This is Patriotic Bear, we named him Henry.
• At church yesterday we got an overload of brownies and cookies from members because of Valentine's Day😆😆

Week 7: Arizona: Where did Susie's Head Go?!

  Qué tal?! This was a miracle week!!!!! As I mentioned last week, we have been struggling to find people to teach. On Saturday we got a text from one of our bishops that basically said that a man named Jeff had texted him because he has been thinking about joining the church for a while and he loves watching General Conference and he basically wants to get baptized...ISNT THAT AMAZING?!?! So Hna Sleight and I called him up and he was super excited and was like "Let's plan a time to get together tomorrow after sacrament meeting" and we were like YESSSSS. We met him yesterday and he is the absolute sweetest he is so eager to learn more and fits right in to the ward. Like literally we are having our first lesson with him tomorrow at a member's house. He has so much member support which is honestly so awesome. That was definitely the highlight of our week. Week 4: Mexico City/Arizona: Goodbye Mexico CCM ;(

  Hi there!! I am in Arizona!!! Ahhhhh today was a long day. I had to be at my bus ready to leave the MTC at 1:30am, so Hermana Gomez and I decided we just wouldn't sleep and instead did some cramping packing and had a nutella with toast party.  Saying goodbye to my district was hard, we all became such great friends, but saying goodbye to Hermana Gomez was so sad I was actually devastated. She is going to do amazing things in Mérida. Once I got to the Mexico City airport I realized there were a bunch of other missionaries too, yay!! One of the hermanas had a ukelele, so while we were waiting by the gate she started playing hymns while me and another hermana sang along. So there we were, 3 hermanas singing super loud, its 4 in the morning and everyone is half asleep... It was actually so fun even though people were given us weird looks ahaha.
